A summery tale about two brothers and their illusions about women. Andža’s marriage proposal makes his girlfriend Simona reconsider her choices. Their relationship is put to the test, especially when Andža’s older brother Gvido unexpectedly returns from the sea. Mutual ambitions both divide and unite the brothers. The film is full of ironic situations, fights, and the characteristic bravado of the Kurzeme coastline.
This is director Juris Poškus’ second feature film, created in close collaboration with the actors, each of whom creatively developed their character and episodes. After the film’s premiere, Latvian politicians sparked debates about whether state funding should be allocated to films that portray Latvia and its society in a less-than-positive light.
